  1. Thank you Jodi for sharing this great information about summer reading ideas. Preventing the “summer slide” in reading sets the stage for moving students ahead in reading the following school year. Any time teachers don’t need to spend time bringing students back up to a previous reading level is time that can be used to move students ahead and help them grow as readers. I don’t know about you, but I have already started my summer reading list and I can’t wait to dive into some great summer reading.
